OFFER DESCRIPTION
You will join the School of Materials Science and Engineering (SMSE) at the SJTU.
Your PhD project will be to help develop, build and use machine learning (ML) methods for metal additive manufacturing (AM) guided by in situ synchrotron experiments and multi-physics modeling via in situ and operando imaging and diffraction capabilities at SSRF, BSRF, CSNS and APS that will help develop new processes, materials and monitoring systems. Working with the top
scientists at SSRF, BSRF, CSNS and APS, you will learn state-of-the-art X-ray and neutron physics at synchrotron and neutron beamlines; with SJTU, you will learn how to design and apply ML models, and use the new physics to improve, validate and develop novel computation models for AM processes.
