Starting dates
There are four available start dates for postgraduate research courses during the academic year:
- 1st January
- 1st April
- 1st July
- 1st October
Research proposal
During applicaton for a research degree, you will be required to submit your proposed area of research.
An initial research proposal should be of approximately 500 words, including –
- Outline of your research interests,
- Your initial thoughts about a topic (Introduction),
- References to previous work,
- Methodology and approach to the work.
If you have already contacted with your prospective school or department about a particular research topic, or you are applying for a specific open vacancy, you only need to provide brief details of that project work on your application form.
